Most interesting graphics rely on some form of contrast to provide that interest. Contrast can be added through the following elements:

• Color
• Size
• Type

You can use contrasting colors by placing light colored text on a dark background, or dark text on a light background. You can use contrasting type by using a very solid sans serif typeface with an italic typeface.
